Default O 2 Sensor

FYI...I had to have the O 2 sensor replaced yesterday. Car was driving fine, but the emissions indicator came on and stayed on. It wasn't the gas cap being loose, unfortunately. That would have been a much cheaper fix! Anyhoo, it's done. Car has low miles and no problems at all for the five years I've owned it so far. A guy saw the car as I was leaving and asked me if I would sell it. Uh...NO!!

This happened to me with my 02 and it turned out to be a loose wire between the sensor and the ECU. It was a pretty simple fix once the problem was identified.

Hmmm...I wonder how many miles before these sensors go a foul? Mind has 70K+ miles, maybe it's time before it gets bad.

Really...didn't know that. I see a thread here in S2Ki about it. Gonna check it out.

I have a call in to the rep and the service director to see about getting some money back on this. It mentions goodwill consideration if the car is out of warranty, so I'm pushing for that! Thanks for the heads up. Wish me luck!!

Good luck! I know those sensors aren't cheap.

unfortunately this kind of thing is something unless you bring up they generally won't bring to your attention.
