Default OEM roll hoop friendly track day

Hi all,

Track Daze is hosting a 2-day event on Summit Point's Jefferson Circuit. It will be on Sept. 6/7. I emailed to make sure and S2000s with stock roll over protection are good to go for this event. This is a great chance for anybody thinking about tracking their car to give it a try without the investment of a roll bar. Jefferson Circuit was expanded this year so it will be fun to try out the new track.

I don't think you will find a more laid back and enjoyable organization than Track Daze. They run a very fun event and offer enough groups that you are always comfortable on track while running with people of your same skill level. Novices run with novices so you don't have to worry about The Stig ruining your day.

Click here to go to the Track Daze registration page.

Here is a video of the track last year. It has been expanded some so it will be a little different this year. As you can see in the beginning of the video we had a lot of S2000s at the MBCA event last fall. It would be great to get those kind of numbers again.

Found a clip of the new track:

Should be fun. I thought it would still be on the small side (compared to the other tracks at summit), but looks like it'll be about the same length (2.2 miles). I haven't talked to the wife yet, but I should be able to make this event.

I don't like Jefferson and and recent events there scare me... but I am curious to try the new addition. I'll have to think about this one.

Ya, I'm definitely not a huge fan of Jefferson, but it could be interesting. The lack of safety stuff is a little concerning but as long as you watch out for different areas I don't think it's too bad. Should be fun to try out the new pavement though.

There was an incident there at Hyperfest where an instructor was killed by an out of control student. The run off on that track is pretty poor, so they hit a tree with the side of the car.

I wonder if they are doing anything to improve the safety. I imagine after something like that happening they would.

I think a track like Jefferson you have to be careful of some areas more than others because of little/no run off. Turn 1 comes to mind. The good thing it seems about the new section of track is there's plenty of run off since they plowed the new section pretty well. I guess adding Jersey walls or barriers anywhere there are trees (everywhere) lining the track would make it safer..

On a similar note, MBCA has their one day event at Jefferson on Sept 14th for $165. Hmm.. Missed the early bird discount. At $135 you're practically losing money not going..

Man, I'd love to come. I have a newborn though and I think this will be too soon.

If anybody is interested it is possible to sign up for only one day instead of the entire weekend.
