Let's see... more info to add.

---------------------------------------------------
The PS2 and Xbox versions need different pads (the pads are the same, but the connectors are different).
---------------------------------------------------
The site for Stepmania, the free PC version, is at: http://stepmania.com

There is a PS2 -> USB converter from lik-sang at http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=...&likref=bemanix

for playing StepMania. Acquiring songs can be free, as long as you find torrents for them. Good luck googling - maybe 80% of the songs in all of the DDR console games can be found in torrents.

Stepmania is useful if you have a PC connected to your home theater system, or just on your work PC to practice hitting the arrows with your keyboard
---------------------------------------------------
There's another dance game called "Pump It Up" which features the 4 diagonal arrows and a center step - that's 5 buttons! Try it at your local Dave and Buster's sometime after you get more experienced with DDR.

no big deal, we take it as a compliment. its the times when people arent respectful about it that can drive a person crazy, but those mostly happen with drunk people in clubs

Heh, I've seen this progression quite frequently

Are you playing with her, Tony? Or is she flying solo?
