One Less New Formula Red in the Mid-A...
The house goes on the market tomorrow.......
HI everyone.
A couple of you have known what I have been dealing with this past month, for the rest, here is a short summary:
My 28 year old brother was in a motorcycle accident 1 month ago. Spent 2 weeks in the hospital all jacked up and is in rehab now for approx 6 weeks give or take. He suffered an L1 vertabrae burst fracture where a part of the spinal bone whent into the spinal cord. There was no severage of the cord, but there was damage that has resulted in him not being able to walk.....at the moment anyways. He is able to partially move his left leg with sensation and the right slightly. He has no feeling in the ankles or feet and can NOT stand, nor attempt to even walk at this point. He will be dependent on a wheelchair for the next few months and hopes with continued rehab, he will improve. The extent of improvement is unknown at the moment.....
I could not let him try and heal by himself. I H-A-T-E this area, the hospital, majority of the people, humidity...need I go on. So this is a very good reason to move, hence, there is nothing keeping me here. I have postponed my schooling untill later. So, I will buy a place up there that can accomodate him and the wheelchair and me of course
. He has a job waiting for him as a computer IT geek
The business gathered over $1,000 for him and my moms bank gave him $600 and has offered to do what ever needed to make things comfortable. My whole family is up there, (Vermont) and the hospital I work in is FABULOUS! People are nice and not pretenscious and its just plain beautifull.
So, the little red caboose will depart VA in the morning.
I will be back in a couple of weeks to start packing and closing on the house. I will miss most of you and I hope you all take care of yourselves.

Wow!
I, too, am sorry things turned out this way for you and your family. I wish your brother a quick and complete recovery. I wish you happiness wherever you go. Good luck.

Good luck to you April - I know you will be better off away from Hampton Roads, and it sounds like your brother will be well taken care of.
to you for making this huge effort on his behalf!
If I don't see you before you leave, I want to pass a big THANK YOU on for the help you've given me and for being a friend. Whether you believe it or not, you will be missed

I dont think we've ever talked before but im sorry to hear about all of this. I moved down here from vermont just a couple years ago. I will be heading back to vermont on the 11th. What part are you heading to? Vermont is beautiful and as you mentioned...the people are so much nicer there. I'm sure you'll love it there. If I could find a job up there, I'd probably move back. Good luck in your life journey.

April, I hope and pray for your brother to heal quickly from this tragedy. I know with your love, and support, he will be well taken care of.I know I don't have to tell you that you mean a lot to Brenda, and I, eventhough we didn't get to spend enough time with you, you touched our hearts. We will always consider you our friend, and that will not change because of the distance.
I am so sad to know your leaving, but so very happy that you will be in a place that gives you happiness, and comfort. Please stay in touch, and let us know how things are going from time to time. You have our numbers.
Maybe see you at fall colors??? Need a roomie???

I will miss you my sweet friend.
Kisses and hugs,
Mark & Brenda
PS: Our house goes on the market Monday also. $$$$$ banking some bucks while the market is hot. Also, Brenda is being asked to take over the Tampa Fl office, and we are thinking about it. I like Tampa, but I love to many people here... going to be a hard choice for her, and I, over the next few weeks.
