Presoak with warm water, qd, anything. Then rinse as much as you can off with running water, and wash normally.

 

Flush... Don't wipe...

 

There is also a fair amount of ammonia and acid in bird crap. That is why seagull guano was a key ingredient in the original black powder recipe.

 

buff it out with some rubbing compound and then polish it. If the scratches are too deep come down to the sherwin williams automotive finishes in richmond. I'll sell you what you need to fix it

 

lol well I did wash and wax it today, thanks for the advice guys. now there's just streaks of scratches. one of them is pretty deep ill see what imma do

 

as long as the scratch isn't going thru to the primer you should be ok to just buff it out.

 

If its etched in the clear, which is what bird shat tends to do... you're going to have to wetsand it first with 1500-2000. Then use a rubbing compound followed by a polishing compound.

As far as the scratches, general rule of thumb...If you can feel it with your fingernail, you're not going to get it all the way out.

I just painted my S a deep black about a 2 months ago. I feel you on the bird crap because I had fresh clear on it only a day old and an arsenal of birds made ends meat of my clear. Worked my ass trying to get the etchings out.
