I'm glad to see that Kerry will walk away with his dignity and the Democrats will live to fight another day.

Eventhough I don't like Kerry and most of the current Democrats currently in office - I still like to see the power balance held intact and the Democrats save face, so they continue to be the strong party that they are.

I feel as if it's Groundhog day and Puxatauney Phil reared out of his hole
and said there will be 4 more YEARS of Winter.

Get ready for your rights to be violated even more under the USA Patriot Act (the new Millennium version of McCarthyism). Get ready for $5.00 a gallon gasoline, distributed by Haliburton. Get ready for more terrorist attacks. Get ready for more American soldiers killed in Iraq.

Excuse me, I have to start building my bomb shelter now...

Warren

^ Fortunately, that sort of bloated gloom and doom was kept at bay this time around

If you DO build a bomb shelter, make it big enough for ALL the whiners so we don't have to listen to it until 2008

One of the rules of the main boards on S2Ki is not to discuss politics. The Mid-Atlantic is not a main board of S2Ki and falls under the jurisdiction of the Community Organizers, but I've been one to try to uphold the same rules as the rest of the boards, and don't have a problem letting a few things slide from time to time....

BUT

....I would really hate to see this thread turn from a little fun-poking to a full on hurtfull mess.

I'm just posting this to make sure intentions lean toward the fun side and not the hurtfull side - this post is only a precaution - nobody has crossed the line yet.

Funny how the Marylanders side with Kerry and Virginians(transplanted or otherwise) favor Bush. That's how the two states went as well.

I am truly happy to see better voter turnout. As Americans, we need to now get on board and do our part to better ourselves; our country. I guess the over-used word here would be "team players."

Honestly, I feel more comfortable with President Bush at the helm when dealing with security. The President does not control the economy, but the Republican control Capitol Hill will. too often President get too much blame/credit. We are still dealing with the fallout of corporate America whose transgressions were mostly committed during the eight years that the Demo's held the White House. Ignorance is bliss when folks' retirement funds are growing falsely. Then there was Clinton's admission that his administration did not do all it could concerning al Queda(sp?).

Bush ain't perfect, but our necks are out there already and I'd rather have an unwavering man in office than another extremely rich man who is perceived to be wishy-washy. My $.04(inflation).

Something to also remember is the Mid-A is made up of Virginia and Maryland - both states voted opposite of the other.

It should be noted for all who have never met me that I should never be taken seriously.
