problems with Police...
hey guys right now im living in San Diego but i could be moving to VA beach in the next couple of months. I was wondering if you F/I S owners deal with a lot of crap from the police about emissions or "street racing" even though you are not racing just cause your car looks like a race car. Because in San Diego some folks get pulled over on just a hunch doing nothing wrong but sterotyped as a "street racer". im just wondering how it is over there i used to live in Va beach about 5years ago but wasnt aware on the import scene at the that time so really didnt pay attention to stuff like that.
Yes. According to Cheech-n-Chong, if it looks like poop, smells like poop, and tastes like poop, then most likely it is poop(just don't step in it!).

correct. There is no emissions that I know of here in Va.Just state inspection...and as far as that goes, there are plenty of places to get your car inspected that will not even throw your car on a lift.Just got my inspection done and im running a test pipe...no problems. As far as "profiling " is concerned......that depends on where you live.Nobody likes "cop bashing" posts on here so i'll try and treat lightly...Cops in richmond WILL profile "suspected street racers".I have a friend that is a Richmond City police officer and he has told me on multiple occasions that if given the choice of pulling over an car with tinted windows and big chrome rims or an import that is "hooked" up, the import will lose everytime. That was not verbatum but that was the jist of the conversations. Just be careful and always be aware of your surroundings is all that I can say...G/L

If your vehicle is garaged in the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, or Stafford, or the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas or Manassas Park, your vehicle must meet the emissions inspection requirements. Inspections are valid for two years and may be obtained by having your vehicle inspected by a certified emissions inspection station.

thats probably because they have a less chance of getting shot by pulling over a "import"....than a cady on 33''s.....BALLIN

This depends on the county. Those of us from the North are not as fortunate.

I didn't know the southern parts didn't ahve to do emissions. They don't pay personal property tax either. Not fair.
well seeing if youre "hooked up" in San Diego, CA and havent really had issues of getting your car crushed yet...i think you'd do fairly better here haha dont drive like an idiot and id say 90% of the time you'll be fine. now if youre car is spitting fireballs and with a 200dbs exhaust and limo tint..thats a whole other case
