The AP2s have 240hp too. There was a change in the way that HP is measured beginning with MY06 in 2005 that causes the HP ratings to be lower on ALL cars. Check out the 270 hp Acura TL, it now has 258. Same engine, same car just a different method of measuring hp.

Domestic car freaks have said that its because Toyota and Honda have been overstating their hp for years, but other articles I have read say that its because the new method for measuring horsepower just makes the rules more strict in how they measure it, and leaves less room for confusion.

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...17/140505.html <-- One of the more domestic tilted articles.

In any case, an at the wheel dyno usually shows the AP2 making more horsepower sooner than the AP1 thanks to its extra torque and generally about an extra 10 peak hp than a AP1.

Link to HondaNews.com Archive for a 2004 S2000 (note the 240hp @ 7800 rpms):

Acceleration wise though, they're pretty much equal. You won't really find a consistent pattern of most people being faster in an AP1 versus AP2 or vice versa in the 1/4 mile -- not that it really matters.
ok it figures the AP2s would blaze me... but hey facts are facts
