The AP2s have 240hp too. There was a change in the way that HP is measured beginning with MY06 in 2005 that causes the HP ratings to be lower on ALL cars. Check out the 270 hp Acura TL, it now has 258. Same engine, same car just a different method of measuring hp.

In any case, an at the wheel dyno usually shows the AP2 making more horsepower sooner than the AP1 thanks to its extra torque and generally about an extra 10 peak hp than a AP1.

Acceleration wise though, they're pretty much equal. You won't really find a consistent pattern of most people being faster in an AP1 versus AP2 or vice versa in the 1/4 mile -- not that it really matters.
