Skip might have a loaner helmet or two for a fee.
I haven't purchased one for Kyle yet.

Kelvin, I believe OGRacing rents helmets. Check their website. Brian Hair(or Hare) or anyone there would be able to help you.
Call them now. RL has a seven-day cancellation policy. If you don't cancel outside of seven days before the event, you just get a credit. In other words, if you cancel now, you'll get a credit. So, get your loaner helmet asap.

Why not? Bring him to an autoX event.

Actually, i might stop by there today after work. didn't know ogr is in sterling, which is about 40 minutes or so up the street. i was looking at some of the prices for helmets...kind of steep...assuming i'd like to do more track events, when would be a good time to make the leap and buy mine own grape cover?

Kelvin, go ahead and buy one. Then after this weekend, sell it to me for half price.

Oh, and he's not interested in going to autox's- tried that before. He knows they blow.
Has he driven at an autoX event? If not, he should at least give it a try. He might actually like it.

I guess you missed the part about "they blow."

Seriously, I like thrashing about with little chance of anything going wrong, but driving a couple hours to stand around most the day is suxor. Once he has a license, however, he/I will be forced to endure them again as I believe them to be good teaching practices.
