Default Retainers and keepers

Anyone know of a place/someone to get my ap1 retainers and keepers swapped with ap2's? Thanks.

Daisy Import Auto near Lisbon on I-70 about 15 miles west of Baltimore. The owner, Ben Schaefer is an ex-Honda racer and did my engine swap. (301) 854-6252. The retainer replacement is a pretty big job because the head has to come off, but I highly recommend you get it done--a broken retainer destroyed my engine.

Yes, my first choice was Billman, but he's up there in NY. I didn't want to drive up there and have one of of my retainers crack and i'll be sol.

I misshifted this past weekend going from 3rd to 2nd. granted, i was doing about 61-65 in 3rd, and then downshifted, but I don't want to take any chances.

I called a few shops but the labor was a bit pricey.

, I had mine done here a while back at george (gfactor)'s recommendation. So far no problems, but yea it is very expensive.

IIRC, with the right tool(s), the replacement can be done with the head in place. Also, I think you can use a compressor's air to keep the valve up through the spark plug's position. It's been so long since I've thought about this stuff that I just can't be fo' sho'.

for trying to prevent a bigger problem.

I did the retainer replacement at around 60k and according to the advise of Hardtop Guy he didnt recommend the AP2 retainers because of the difference in RPM limit. just a thought...

A leak down tester can be used to pressurize the cylinder to hold the valve up, but you have to have a special valve spring compressor designed to be used with the head on to remove the keepers and retainers.

has anyone had some valve work from inlinepro? I got a pretty fair quote from them.
