I mean, my fiance wants to go look at churches and such... I will check back on this thread to see what date you guys agreed upon - thanks for your help and offer...

Seems like August 10th would work best for everyone.

The 10th it is. So how many people can I expect? What time do you all want to start?

The 10th of August sounds great, Laz. We're having a little MINI meet on the 3rd (I think) and then we might go to the beach, so that works better for me.

If ricklobo comes from Baltimore, we'll need to allow him 3 hours to get down here. Maybe around 10 or 11am?

10th works for me too. Laz, while 10am also is probably a good fit, I'd like to arrive early. I want to be able to have additional time to remove, clean, prime & paint my valve cover yellow. So, I'd need to start *that* project a little earlier than the majority of attendees/participants. Hope that's okay. BTW, I'll bring all my supplies necessary for *that* project along with me.

I'm a bit new to the valve adjustment thing. I worked on my Z32 before, but never on the S. What all would I need to bring if I joined in on this?

Thanks!

FWIW, I think that anyone coming from NOVA (or any other long distance) should get here ASAP, because a valve adjustment can ONLY be done on a totally cool motor. That could take as much as 2 hours.

I'll work on a list of stuff to bring, if your car has less than 50000 miles than you should not need to buy a new valve cover gasket. They are designed to be reusable (unlike a head gasket and such), and it is a low oil pressure area.

Bring any and all tools you can comfortably bring (I.e. a standard tool box, nothing special). You will need an assortment of wrenches (I have a bunch of tools, but if we have to use mine we can only do 1 car at a time and that might add up to a lot of time). A set of metric feeler guages, the longer the better. The best set will be around 4" to 6" long and the blades will be able to be removed from the the holder. An example of the one you can get at Sears.
Sears Craftsman 26 Leaf Offset Gauge Good and inexpensive.

Give me a day or two to put together a complete list.

Those interested in coming, please email me at lszerenyi@attbi.com , that way I can get a list of who is actually coming and I will email you back a set of directions to my place.

Later,
Laz

I can bring a trunk-full of tools. I guess I'd have to buy a set of feeler gauges I'll send you an e-mail shortly to confirm my intention to be there.

PS. In case it was overlooked...I'm going to plan on showing up even earlier cuz I am going to re-paint my valve cover there as well. I'll have all supplies including plastic to lay down to protect sidewalk, etc. while painting.

Hey guys - just got word from my fiance that she needs me to go with her to check out churches, reception places, crap, crap, etc... for the next few Saturdays (our only time to do this)... so thanks for the offer, but I cannot make it.... I didn't want you guys to adjust time b/c of my travels but hope to see you guys in the future at a meet...

Regards,
- Rick

W1ngman, how are you painting your cover?

I have a large collection of spraying equiptment, airbrushes and such small guns. I'm an airbrush artist. Let me know if you need anything. FWIW, I have been thinking of painting the S and painting on the S. Could be cool.
