Default Richmond MINI Premiere Party

Friday, April 19, - 6-9 pm - Crown MINI of Richmond

Did anyone else get an invite? I hope you did Mike. I'm planning on going - "...plenty of food, music and carousing to go around." says the invite. I'm definitely up for the carousing!

The cars will be there but, it doesn't say anything about test drives. Oh hell! We can just drive Mike's!

Who else is going?

By the 19th Mike best have his *own* Mini...or he's gonna swell up on those BMW whores! I say, when Mike gets his, we distract him and go for rides around the block in his new Mini!

Congrats, Mike. Got to hang out w/ a couple who realized that at #150-something on Sterling MINI's wait list they were NEVER gonna get a Cooper S so they picked up a base model. Amazingly cute little car and early reports say that the handling is amazing for a front driver.

I also hear it swept up H-stock at the last DC-area auto-x at FedEx Field.

I've got first dibs on a ride her in DC.

The Cooper S is striking in terms of looks, but I was (a little) disappointed with the performance. Certainly not bad, but not as good as I had hoped. Both models have GREAT handling however and the Cooper S with 17" wheels/Sports Suspension Plus didn't feel very different from the Cooper with the standard (Sports) suspension and 15" wheels. Decided to go for a Cooper myself.

Yeah, my friend Stephen (and Bill's co-worker) with the '83 911SC told me there were 6 of 'em at the FedEx auto-x - all red/white combo!! I don't think I've seen that many at any one time even at the dealer

Gregg, Mr. Vice President sir , you get the first ride. I'll drive it up there on Thursday if I can make the go-karting event ........provided it arrives tomorrow as they promised...............

So that was MIKE'S SPA Yellow?

I was wondering if that was Mike there, I've been a lurker for a while and finally decided on a cooper s over the s2k (just slighty more practical for me).

I wanted to standup and yell ("Is that VAS2K's S2000 parked outside?") but decided against it

Mike I hope your cooper comes in soon, mine is supposed to be here sometime end of June. Looking forward to the mini meets, and I hope to still be able to hang out with the S2K guys too!

The Crown Mini gathering was really cool! Met a lot of nice people, and the sales people were fine by me. I think they are a little too cavalier about allocation but that's their choice.
