i was at the ps3 launch and it was nuts!!
48 hours in the rain/cold, it was the same thing for 360 a year earlier.
Yes, I paid the son of a friend to stand in line, but in the end it really wasn't necessary. I was in line for a few hours leading up to the store opening, and it was a blast. I met a lot of interesting people and got interviewed a few times. So it wasn't a waste of time at all.
The iphone has a fabulolus interface and it's much better than I thought it would be. It makes my HTC so-called "Smartphones" look more like "Stupidphones", but then again, the so-called "smart" is Windows Mobile software -- and just like other MS software, it's crap (my old Windows Mobile phones take about 60 seconds to boot up when you turn them on).
I switched from a PC to Apple about 6 months ago. It was one of the best things I did. The iphone is just another step in my attempt to never use anything with with Windows or Microsoft software again.

I got my PS3 the first morning in a store with no "hook-up"... never waited one second in line. Maybe, sometimes older is smarter.
And sometimes, older is just older.
