Warren - it is roughly $2K for 20 jumps now - which gets you certified.

Well, I'm coming back to the board when I have time. And seeing this thread, I WANNA F**KIN' GO!!!!

I've always wanted to do it. I might even go for a skydiving license (12 jumps I think, was something like $2k 10+yrs ago). For me it would be a business expense. Then I can tell clients that I'm a skydiving cameraman and raise my rates

How is the weekend of May 14th/15th sounding? I also want to take the class for beginning certification that is only given on Saturdays so if anyone wants to join in, speak up. The class is roughly 6 hours starting at 8:00 AM every Saturday, and it is the only way to get the monkey off your back

JDMKID - plug this address into Mapquest:

1268 Old Somerton Rd
Suffolk Va. 23434

I'm sure it is quite a haul for you, but this isn't like going to play poker or looking at cars - this is better than an aggressive drive!

I'm very interested...always wanted to go skydiving. Just the tandem for me though...I'm not interested in getting certified. I take enough risks with my life already . It looks like a 2-3 hour haul from DC, but I could make it depending on the time of day I guess.

This is what I fear. I have a very addictive personality and am acutely aware of it. The adrenaline rush would be so great that I'd spend dollar upon dollar chasing my dragon(heroin reference).

That said, I'd still be interested. Traveling through Orange, I have often wanted to stop and inquire about pricing. They come in right at the airfield on Rt 20. Most times, however, we were en route to the UVA for Janet's stuff.
I have a friend that jumps several times a week at Orange. He loves that place and swears by them. On the plus side, it does get cheaper the more you do it. Once you can do solo jumps it costs a lot less. Then if you buy your own gear you don't pay rental costs, etc.
