Default Small problem with my Clutch/Tranny

During these colder winter months I havnt driven my car much... But when I do, and its real cold Ill start my car like normal, release the clutch with the car in neutral and let it warm up. sometimes it dies... sometimes it almost dies. Well today, I did it on a perfectly level surface and my car wanted to move foward... not like it was in first gear... but slower. I was in a closed hanger so I didnt see how far it went. I ended up pressing in and releasing the clutch a couple times... then finnally pulled the ebrake and released the clutch to let her run for a while... and thats what happened, she didnt die.

Now.. I have pretty thick racing tranny fluid... could it be the cause? Why would my car move foward in neutral?

Did it continue to pull slightly forward after warming up? Are you on your original clutch?

My Nissan Truck did this all the time when it was cold. Now my brother drives it and at 160k on the odometer it still pulls forward when cold but operates normally otherwise. You may have a legitimate problem but if the clutch is not slipping or the pulling stops when the clutch fluid warms up I would simply monitor it. You could also try and change the tranny fluid back.

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will chime in here.

i have the same issue, but only sometimes, ill turn her on, and then shell rev up to warm up speed, and then shut off, i simply turn her on again and shes fine, i have no idea why you would creep though, if in neutral? there shouldnt be any movement of the prop shaft so i have no idea im stumped here in class reading your post hahaha while i write an essay!!!!!!! your distracting me with you prob.... but i like it

Is the clutch plate sticking? The transmission is still engaged when in neutral?

it is but no synchro/ gear is selected so the shaft spins freely, the input shaft is connected to the engine when clutch is engaged(clutch pedal out) but being in neutral allows the shaft to spin without being in gear.

an easy way to tell if your sticking like i was, if u push the clutch in and select first, notoriously it will want to move, but if i gutters, or trys to move forward, then you might have a sticking clutch, but even after my install of my new clutch, my engine dies in the morning sometimes, maybe an air bubble in the fuel line? i dunno kind of an anomoly to me, any more descriptions of the symptoms?

thanks for the responces...
this is whats real weird... its not the same force pulling forward like with the car in first... its less...
If you put the car in first and let out the clutch at idle, or any other gear it would immidiatly want to stall... but in neutral it just wants to creep foward... but after 30 seconds everything was fine.

when the clutch pedal is released with the car in neutral, is there anything spinning in the tranny? Is there more load on the engine than with the clutch in?

yes the input shaft will spin.......windows up pull off the center console(shift boot etc) listen and u can hear, if ur clutch is sticking, push the clutch pedal in(with shift boot off) and listen to see if the shaft slows down
