Default So I Could Use A Hand...

If any one savvy is available this weekend I could probably use a hand sorting out the car. I rebuilt my calipers, got new brake lines, rotors, and my pads on the car this weekend and something isn't right. Orrrr... I don't really know what to expect from new rotors and Carbotech pads? Drivers side rear was dragging a bit but after bed-in seems better. Pedal is still soft but I bled the crap out of it and don't see any air. I'm at a loss / frustrated and could use a second opinion and some help. Is any one available this weekend? I'll make it worth your while...

maybe need to do gravity bleed? or air in ABS system. I've heard you can have that and a regular fluid flush will show no signs of error but cause the same soft pedal symptoms.

Aaron,

I am wrenching at the Mountain, you are welcome to come out, assuming I get my ish handled we can put your car up and sort it.

Go out and activate ABS a few times to get all the bubbles out of the system and re-bleed, Anytime you open the system like that it takes a while to get the bubbles out.

Loosen the emergency brake cable that might be dragging a bit (10MM) under the arm rest in the center console,

You need to bed the pads and rotors in too, a tank of 2 on the street or get them smoking hot then let them cool way down,

3 or 4 60-5 hard stops, then a few 100-5 stops, when you smell the pads you are good,

Since I don't have my S yet, I think I could swing by Saturday mid morning. I have one of those cheap HF bleeder/vacum machine that we can use.

Awesome. You seemed to know your way around the S2000 brakes.

Thanks, Ken. PM me your number if you don't mind. Trying to find out from the Ms. what if any plans we have are so I can schedule something.

You might be on to something, Steve. I vaguely remember the same thing. Gravity works in this case?

Didn't think about the emergency brake on that side. Definitely possible. I had a Hell of a time getting the cable back on so it could be too snug. I did a few 60-5 stops. Didn't have enough nerve to take the car to 100mph on unproven brakes. It's also a lot more risky here in the city. ABS was activated on the 60-5 stops so maybe I pushed the bubbles out.
