So my luck ran out...again
So my car finally got screwed with last night. I took the dog out at 2:00 and the car was fine. This morning I go out and noticed it looked like the roof had caved in. Yep, the top was slashed and slashed in multiple places. I checked the interior and the only thing wrong was that the cushion part of my center console was removed. It was still there just not attached. My center console is cf so I guess they were trying to steal it but whoever broke into the car left both the center console and my oakley sunglasses that they had gotten out of the glove box. I guess they were interrupted? That or they must not like my style. And, to add insult to injury, the word "Blood" with an X through it was carved into my recently painted new hood.
My neighbor owns a Wrangler and his top was slashed last night (and his doors weren't even locked) as was everyone's on a nearby street a week or so ago (of course had I known this I would have made sure to cover the car). The funny thing is I always cover the car but last night my girlfriend talked me out of it because I was planning on washing the car first thing this morning. I feel a guilt trip coming on.
I've had the car down here 9 months, have driven maybe 3,000 miles and have had 1 hit and run to the rear bumper that required a repaint, 1 hit to the front bumper from the girlfriend that required a repaint and now this. For every mile I drive I pay a dollar in non-driving related repairs. I don't know how you guys do it! I am moving back to the sticks.
After taping a trashbag over the hole, I walked down to the 350Z owner up the block and warned him. I hope I can prevent a little pain on his part.
Anyway, any words of wisdom you guys haveabout getting the top replaced, dealing with insurance, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

that's rough. I can't imagine how you feel, I wouldn't know where to start either. I would assume a police report would be in order, followed by an insurance claim. In your girlfriend's defense, I'm almost positive it wouldn't have made a difference if the car was covered or not. Furthermore, the word they wrote on your hood probably stands for the gang Bloodz. And since it had an X through it, can we say MS-13? I believe you guys have them bad up there in MD. I suggest you move soon, before something worse happens.
Damn man, that sucks. Happen to be near Lakeforest? I know crime can be pretty bad there...
I hope insurance covers it for you and doesn't give you a hard time.
And
with s2krazy on just about everything
Crime is everywhere though, so I don't think there's really any way to prevent that.
