Yeah, I think you'll need a new soft top. At least you can upgrade to glass now!
Sucks though, man. And the noise could be from worn strikers. I'm sure some other people on the boards will have some input about this.

You can either replace the plastic window, or you can replace the top. If your paying out of pocket it will cost Big $$$. Hardtop guy used to have tops on sale for I think 850... But its gonna cost another 600-800 dollars labor to get it installed.
If the rest of your top is in good condition and you dont mind the plastic window. I would just get the rear window replaced.

"I just had my 2001 rear window replaced at Danny's Upholstery in Charlottesville, VA. He charged me $300 for everything and had it done the same day. If anyone is interested, he does a lot of work on convertible tops and rear windows. The phone #434-977-1974."
Not sure where you live, but if charlotsville is not near, just call around to a few upholstry shops.
As for the wind sounds. I bet your strikers are worn and need to be replaced.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=275211 Thats the TSB for replacing strikers of MY00-01 with Hardtop strickers. You might get lucky and your honda dealership might cover it out of goodwill.

I think he said it all. As far as converting to the glass window top....you either have to replace the frame too or make some slight modification to your existing frame which means $$$$$ (as stated above).I don't know when you bought your car but is it still covered under warranty? I find out today if Fairfax Honda will be replacing my top under warranty.

It's easily possible to modify your current frame. It includes adding 2 elastic straps and 2 nylon straps, that's it. The modification is cheap and it works perfect. Total cost of the mod is ~$4 for rivets and ~$8 for straps. I have instructions if you need them (PM me your email). It sounds intimidating, but if you're at all handy, it's an easy job that is just time consuming. I had the same problem and replaced mine with a glass window (one of my fav mods)
Not giving you a hard time civicguy, just want to make sure he knows that he does not need a new frame and that the mod is very inexpensive.
Air noise = worn strikers
Order new hard top strikers from hardtopguy.com when you order your soft top. I think they're $40 plus shipping. Totally worth it and is an easy install. Just remove the plastic cover on the interior light, remove those screws, remove the visors, pull off the plastic covers and A-pillars, remove 3 screws on strikers and install new one; reverse instructions.
Hope that all makes sense. If you have any more questions just let me know.
What's with all of these people recently cracking their plastic windows?

will you ask them if the top on mine would be covered too, its starting to wear out
right behind my d/s and p/s windows, little tiny holes. I know with vw, the tops are covered for up to 5 or 6 years.

In the meantime, I recommend getting some black duct tape and putting it on the inside of your top in those spots.
or
I think I still have my old top. I could cut off some pieces of the material and you could use them as patches and reinforcements on the inside of your top.
PM me if you want some of the material.

man its all good. It was bad wording on my part...I stated he would either need a new frame or the small mod....then meant the frame is huge bucks ....I didnt mean to imply the modification was too.
