SoVa Charity Event
MODS - please notify me if any of this goes against forum protocols and I will immediately remove/modify the post.
I was thinking about setting up some kind of charity event/meet to either help out a local charity or provide a donation from fundraising. Any suggestions on a charity or event?
Along the same lines, I'd like to offer an S2000 convoy/escort when Z104 does their Stuff The Bus toy drive during this holiday season. Shaggy and Jade (Promo Director) spend days on the buses while attempting to stuff buses with toy donations. I am on ENTERCOM Norfolk's payroll as a promo assistant/beeotch and can easily set this up. Imagine a line of S's driving from shopping mall to shopping mall with the Z104 Expedition and toy buses following. Just an idea to get the Mid-A SoVa folks to help our community, even if it is just driving around. Once Z104 has the shopping mall locations/dates scheduled, I will let you know and will modify this original post by adding a sign-up listing. If I can get folks to commit to this, I can talk to my boss to see if we can get our cars in the background of the TV commercial for the toy drive. ENTERCOM Norfolk is regularly partnered in charity events with WTKR Channel 3.
Finally, my niece's friend is participating in the Race For The Cure in VaBeach on October 16th. Her friend designed a t-shirt and more than 50% of each t-shirt sale will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Sizes available are from Medium to 2XLarge. My avatar shows what the t-shirts look like - "I ♥ Boobies" on the front, and "Running for a cure." with a pink ribbon on the back. Let me know if you want a shirt and I'll pickup and deliver them to you within the 757. They are $20 each.
PM/Post any suggestions or feedback - all is welcomed. Thanks in advance! -Perry

I actually went to the radio station today and told Jade to put me back on the schedules. I took time off to take care of personal business and she told me to take as long as I needed (this was back in May 2009 I think?). I love her to death, possibly one of the best bosses out there (also her boss too).
I'm guessing that the shopping mall location/schedule should be out before Thanksgiving, so I'll update this thread and ask for names for each convoy. IIRC, they go to Lynn Haven, Patrick Henry, and Greenbriar malls. Maybe I'm forgetting a few...
Also, I know that Z104's sister stations (95.7 R&B, 94.9 The Point, and 101.3 2WD - all owned by ENTERCOM Norfolk) do other charity events during the holiday season, so I'll see if there's anything we can do for them too.

The Wounded Warrior program is awesome. Did you see that lady a few days ago at Little Creek run 50 miles to raise funds for the program? She ran it on her 50th birthday. Talk about being inspired.
Let's get some ideas going! I'm always in for veteran and kid (mostly CHKD) charities.
[Thanks for continuing to serve, Rob! I just retired this past June after 22-years of being a Squid. Stay safe, bro!]
