SoVa Going Postal
I'm doing this to see if anyone is interested in having a gun range meet. If so, let us know which range you recommend and what kind of firepower you plan on bringing.
I normally go to Camp Allen Weapons Range. This is where Carlo (C45P312) works at - it's off of Terminal Boulevard (564 towards the base). Their computerized lanes go for $8/hr, while handgun rental is $5/hr and rifle/shotgun go for $10/hr. If you rent a weapon, you MUST buy the ammunition from them. Go here for more info - http://www.mccscampallen.com/shooting_range.htm.
I understand that not everyone has military base access, so let me know if there's another range you recommend.

Do they allow full auto there? I know the answer is no but maybe Carlo is cool...

Let's post up what kind of hardware we own.
Sounds like a good time. I'm in West Virginia and even out here there's a shortage of public ranges. I'm waiting for a BATFE Form 4 for an M16 and don't really have a place to shoot it. I have a lead on a friend's farm that should work as long as I keep the suppressor on it. The M16 and suppressors can't leave West Virginia without prior approval of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
Does Fort Detrick have a range?

I can't get on base.

).I've always brought civilian friends there. You just need to show some form of ID at the gate. Your driver's license will do.
On a side note, how's your Pops been doing?

Those are super expensive.
The guys from Engage in Kensington have full auto events.
I'll be bringing my Glock 22 (full-size 40 S&W):
Stock barrel and guide rod/spring for carry

Modified to my kids' liking for the range

- Lone Wolf extended mag catch, extended slide lock, stainless guide rod, 3.5 lb connector, and extended 2-port barrel
- Glock extended slide stop
- Hogue grip
- Mako sight mount
- 33mm auto-dimming 4-reticle red dot sight
- AmeriGlo Ghost Ring night sights
- aluminum "Padres" slide cover
What's everyone carrying/stocking/hiding?
