Thumbs up Speeding Ticket Help (Appreciated!)

Hey ALL!

I'd appreciate any advice with this one, since it's my second speeding ticket (and first with the S2000):

I was doing 53 in a 35, and the original ticket is cited as "Reckless Driving -- 23 over Limit".

Obviously this is just a mis-add, and should be 18 over....so I was planning to get this easily dismissed in court.

About a week after it was issued, I got a letter from the officer that included a copy of the original ticket with "Reckless Driving" crossed out and "Speeding" replacing it (Also with "You may prepay....etc" in big capital letters).

QUESTION:
Do you guys think this is legitimate? I'm hoping that if I claim that since the original document I signed was wrong, then this might be dismissed, but ANY advice would be appreciated.
Also, for some reason I feel like this might be the case since the copied ticket the officer sent me seems like it's suggesting I prepay; The lettering is really big, all in capitals, and highlighted.

Thanks for reading Mid-Atlantic Owners. I havn't had my S2000 for more than a month and I already get a ticket I really love the car, and it takes a lot of self control for me to stay under the limit. Anyone else get this feeling?

i know what your talking about with the temption and it only gets harder once you get some bolt ons. but to answer your question i wouldnt kno where to start since it was change that could either be a good thing and you should take it or you could take a chance with the judge and have him drop everything since the ticket was changed. either way good luck and be safe. o i live in maryland so i have a radar detector lol that helps

i think your safe with the crossed out copy....you have to remember cops are a far cry from attornies....that's their version of 'in writing'

also, not to hate on VB, but the only time I've ever been there, I got a ****ing $75 'noise violation' citation for having my STOCK Toyota 4runner stereo turned up too loud.......please.........

Yeah man, Virginia Beach is pretty strict as far as cops go. But yeah, just testing the waters to see if anyone had any advice, but thanks anyways -- MMLEM - I can't I don't know how you resist the temptation with bolt ons!

And thanks a lot, T Bone.

Yeah, Virginia Beach is a PITA. As for the temptation... I'm on my second S2000 and have been in one for over 3 years, and the temptation is always there. But, it is worse in the first few months/years of ownership.

As far as temptation...

It has a lot more to do with the person than the car!

My dad can putts around in his Vette all day long, but me, I can't keep a Ford Taurus at speed!!!

Haha yeah, same way with my Dad and his G35.

I see a lot of you guys are around Virginia Beach. I'm right by Pungo, so if anyone wants to get a meet or something together, I'm totally down. I havn't taken my S2000 into Pungo yet, but I remember it has some good twisties. I've seen about a total of 4 s2000's around here since last month when I bought mine; One guy waved, but it would still be cool to meet up!
