Question Starting out fresh...

I'm getting rid of some of my goodies to make room for a bike...
This will be the first time (like a virgin) I was looking for something small and cheap because i'm going to drop it one of these day and I don't want to spend to much fixing it... I'm thinking 250CC or 500CC. I would get a 600 But I don't want to hurt myself too soon... I'm not the one whoe drives hard so hopefully I get some skills, luck and vision to drive another day...

Back on track... What should be a good starter bike????? easy on insurance too>>>

People are going to tell you that anything with a "R" in it is a horrible starter bike. Hearing this I went out and bought a 2004 ninja zx-6r with no exp under the belt . As long as you take it slow and arnt a jackass on it youll be fine. I would personally get a cbr. Comfortable ride and top of the line.

Also if your keeping the S2K, I wouldnt even bother getting a bike. Id rather drive my fit then the bike half the time. Not that the bike isnt fun, but a lot of the time its a hassle. Just FYI and my .2

The Suzuki SV650 is a nice handling but very civil bike. It has a very smooth power band so it is easily ridden slowly but still has enough top end for track work. You'll see a lot of guys tracking the SV650 because as a twin it has a more mellow power delivery than the 4 cylinder 600's. They're cheaper and much more confortable than the racer rep 600's too. I'm actually considering selling my GSXR-1000 and picking up a track prepped SV myself.

on the Sv-650 I bought one in 2000 when I wanted to start riding again after a few years w/o a bike.

I still ride friends SV's once in a while, it's as fun as anything in the twistys. Super easy to ride, cheap too.

I have been on the track with some pro riders on SV's me on my R6, they destroyed me.

I wouldn't mind those at all but I was hoping for a sports bike... I wouldn't mind one in the future if I enjoy riding... I really just need to go to the dealer and try sitting on one... but still fear of power...

I sort of feel the same way about first time riders as first time drivers...

Would you recommend an S2000 as your first car? How about a Z06?

You should probably get a decent used cruiser like the Rebel as a first bike and ride that for at least a season before upgrading to something insane. There are other benefits here as well including the initial cost savings, insurance savings, gas savings (hey it's something!).

You may think that you already know how to drive, so riding is no big deal... You'd be wrong. Learn to ride on a bike where you're not tempted to get crazy. And enjoy it!

I might need sometime before making this decision!!!
In the mean time I might as well spend my money on Gas or my S haha... Thanks for all the help... I hate talking about bikes because usually something not good is always said about it... I always freak out after horror stories... I love this one the most "You might want to increase life insurance" or "Be an organ donor" <~ I am anyway
