Default Summit Point, not today

Took the day off and headed to FATT today. Unfortunately I got there too late and could not get in stand-by

Gregg was there and the lucky guy, he got in Group 2. So Gregg by all means let us know how it went. I think the photo guy was going heading there today.

I salvaged the day by doing Skyline Drive and also took our recent meet drive backwards. It was fun but I do not enjoy it as much when you have to constantly look over your shoulder for cops.

Oh well, will have wait for Jefferson Circuit next weekend...

Had a great day at the Point. Sorry you couldn't make get on. I thought the airlines were the only ones who overbooked!

Anyway, the photo guy was there but only snapped three shots of me.

You can find the other two shots here.

Like Scot last time around I had a small issue with fuel. When our group's fourth and final session rolled around I was reading NADA on the fuel gauge. Since the track's pumps were closed I battled my desire to get home by Sunday w/ my desire to run the last twenty minutes. I took made one lap and the gauge was now showing one bar. I made another lap and we were now up to two bars. I did another two laps before calling it a day.

So I'm driving home, intending to stop at the gas station approx. 5mi from the track, when IT happens. About 2.5mi from the gas station the car dies of starvation. Luckily there are only two ways back to civilization from Summit Point and one of the instructors was passing by no more than 30sec after pulling off to the side of road next to a barn.

Five gallons and an $8 gas can later I was on my way. You can bet I will be bringing my can (already full) to future events.

I would have traded the "gas adventure" for a run at the track
It is a good idea to bring extra fuel. The S2000 will go through gas at the track, plus it has a tiny tank to begin with.

The photos look good.

I guess I will see you at the Speedtial Track Day at Jefferson Circuit next week.

Also, check out the NASA Jefferson Circuit High Performance Driving on Sept 22-23. I am signing up to the school portion on Sunday $139.
