I wanted to use Spell check on the word "sacrilegious" because I knew I had spelled it wrongly. I wanted to hit "Spell Check" but instead submitted. I tried to delete the post immediately and could not!

If nothing else from all the new restrictions, I think we should at least be able to delete our own posts. People make spelling errors, post the wrong link, forget to add something, etc.. all the time.

maybe put a time limit on being able to delete like honda-tech uses?

One feature I really found useful about deleting your own post is for bumping your thread without cluttering it with multiple "TTT" posts.

If you guys want to delete your posts, just edit and then replace your post with a single period.

I think things have gotten waaaaayyyy out of hand. Think of what it cost to have the servers available for a speedy connection and download. Think about all the space that is taken up by animated sigs, numerous chat post and pics. I think there should be limits, especially for the "enthusiast"/"guest" who sit around and post/pic whore all day, doing nothing more than taking up space. These guys provide a service and that cost money to run. Its not a charity.

I still have no idea as to why we can't delete our own posts, yet the option is displayed after clicking the "Edit" key.

And yes, I am aware that everything that is typed into this site immediately becomes property of the the site.
