Default Testing Waters: 18" Volk LE28N's w/tires

Just wanted to give you guys dibs. Obviously I'd prefer a local buyer. Here's the link to the FS thread. Still not sure I want to sell though.

Keep the wheels and drop that thing just an inch.

I too have a Berlina , and my gunmetal Ce28Ns are coming in at the end of this month . I want to lower it, and retain the comfortable ride. My question is, if I lower the car, say about an inch, will my shocks fail in a relatively short time?

I do not want a harsh ride, which is the reason I want to go this route. But, I don't want my shocks to fail in, say, three months.

Sorry to hijack your thread.

Hey no problem on the hijack, I personally am not a fan of lowering springs on the stock shocks.
1. They are valved to ride height and spring rate that the stock springs offer. As soon as you change that you are limiting the life of the springs.
2. I am a huge track enthusiasts that plans to retire his S2000 to track duty in the future. So skimping on suspension is not even a consideration on my car.
3. The S2000 suspension is one of the best suspensions for a car from the factory. It's hard to improve on it's qualities. Most serious enthusiasts that upgrade the suspension, due so to match the size tires or compounds (i.e. Slicks) that they are using along with diff. sway bars and curb weights.

If you go with just lower spring rates, I would try to find a decent set of shocks that match your springs rates and ride heights. I hear Koni Shocks with Comptech perch and spring c/o's are a decent budget kit, but adjustability and the fact that they aren't specifically set up for each other steer me away. Remember, I ask a lot of a suspension kit, that said, I'll go with KW Variant 3's when the time comes. Good Luck

Let me know Vlad, You do know body roll is enhanced due to the larger contact patch the car has now, basicly, the car just has more grip, causing it to lean more. Might feel less stable, but your probably faster. Oh and the slightly higher ride height has a little effect due to your COG being higher.
