Time to say goodbye
Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let folks know that in the process of moving to MD, I traded the S on a new 2013 WRX Premium.
I put 50,000 miles on mine in the almost 5 years I had it. Loved every one of them. The time had come though that I needed something a bit more practial for everyday use. So I went looking for something that was going to be fun to drive, and still be more practical. I came down to the Mitsu Ralliart or Subaru WRX.
Chose the WRX because it has more power, more room (I got the 5 door), and great level of equipment in a well proven package.
To be honest, even though the WRX does not turn corners like the S did....I'm finding that I don't miss the S as much as I thought I would. I find I love the WRX for all the oposite reasons I loved the S. The WRX is only a 5 speed, but with the torque it has....really don't need that 6th gear to shift. It's just very flexible and you don't have to keep it all wound up to get the power out. Having more creature comforts is not bad either. These last few mornings have made me appreciate the heated seats.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but all things do change.
More to the point....I'm very glad to have met the people I have from here. This is a great and supportive community of car owners. Hope everyone continues to enjoy their cars and this community. Take care and if you see someone in a silver WRX wave.....it's probably me.

Where in MD are you? We S2000 -> Subaru owners should form our own club.

I'm in Laurel now. Russet to be specific.
Think those would be some small meets, but not a bad idea...lol.

Seems like a logical progression to me. I'd be up for a meet, especially with a bunch of former S2k owners.
Just passed 300 miles on mine, and it's going to be a long break-in process. Been keeping to less than 5lbs boost, and infrequently at that.

didn't i just post this in another thread?! haha
