Default Which tires should I get?

Hey all,

I hope this isn't beating on a dead horse but I'm having trouble deciding on which tires I want to get for my new wheels (Volk TE37s). I don't plan on autocrossing or anything, but I wanted to get some sick tires for the street. I narrowed my choices to these:

1) Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs $811.03 shipped
2) Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Pole Positions $950.08 shipped
3) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric $834.21 shipped
4) Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport $689.14 shipped
5) Yokohama S. Drives $635.90 shipped

All prices were from Tirerack.com, in 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. According to the tirerack tests, the best overall performance seem to be the Goodyear Eagle F1's, but it also looks like the best bang for the buck are the RE760s.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Rody

Ouch... those tires are expensive. What size wheels?

Star Specs in stock AP1 sizes are like $400 after the $50 rebate.

I have been thinking the same thing

This is my last year of a lease, I have the OE tires in great shape, But don't want to buy new tires at the end of my lease (March 2011)

I'd just go best bang for the buck for street tires, and make sure I got something good in wet conditions. You won't notice subtle performance differences just driving on the street. (You probably wouldn't really notice them autocrossing either, unless you were on vastly different tires)

Since you're not doing any motorsports then get the RE760. You won't come close to touching the performance tires potential with street driving and you won't get the same mileage out of them.
