Default TomTom GO 910

Looks like the release date has been pushed back, but I'm looking for feedback on TomTom devices in general as well as any information you guys have on this model.

Brian,

PM Dave (W1ngman). He has a TOMTOM. He had also created a thread with his feedback. It was from a couple of months back though.

On a serious note though... I've heard good things about the TomTom units, however I REALLY like the new Sony Nav-U unit. I spent a good 30-40 mins messing around with one at the SonyStyle store in Tysons like 2 months ago and I REALLY like it. It also seems much smaller than this TomTom unit. Thats not bad though, the way they have the directions and maps laid out isn't a problem with the Sony's small display.

I haven't checked out details on the unit that you are asking about, but just thought I'd give you a suggestion. I'll go check out the link for the one you're talking about now...

I have the GO 700 and really like it. Judging by the info on www.mytomtom.com, there are some sweet upgrades for the 910 . Makes HUGE sense to use all that harddrive space ( 20 Gigs vs. my 'paultry' 2.5 gigs ) for packing in MP3s . Otherwise, seems quite similar to the 700. And the 910's maps, nav, voice stuff, etc. should all be quite similar to my experience with the 700...which is to suggest you would be very pleased.

Great TomTom community board available for your review at:

www.mytomtomgo.com

EDIT... Ooops! Now just reading that site's front page & seems they're parsing their service over to yourNAV.com (which seems to cover all GPS devices in a community format). Okay...so check *THAT* site out then
