I'm going to flush all my fluids with my next oil change. I would organize a mini-diy day at my house, but i need to clear out my garage first.

I'm in for a mini-fluid swap meet. (also sounds pretty disgusting)

I don't think the tranny fluid in my S has been changed ever (28K miles on a 2002!) But the diff fluid was changed every 10K.

Yeah. You need almost 2 quarts for the tranny. I usually fill it until it starts overflowing. Then a add about 100 mL more. With the diff., I do the same. Fill it until it starts overflowing and then add about 50 mL more. I overfill just a tad since I track the car, but you guys won't need to. In 24k miles, I must have changed both the trans. and diff. fluid about six times.

Calvin, what kind of pump did you use for them? I read that boating places have the best kind?

I'm probably gonna try Amsoil Synchromesh and their Severe Gear. I should have changed my fluid probably like 3 times already...damn my laziness!

I didn't have to change the fluids that often. I just did it to monitor the condition of the diff. and tranny.

As for getting the fluids in, you can use a pump from Pepboys or TrackAuto. There's a pic of one in the thread below. I use a plastic tube inserted through the cap of the bottle, but that's more labor intensive to setup initially.

Gotcha. I just want to make sure the pump doesn't crap out on me. Ugh, trying to gravity fill diff fluid with a long hose...

Someone posted this thing:

Looks like it could cut down some time.

the reason i always (every time except the last mtf fill) fill the indicated amount is because i remember on my FG Si they said the gear grind on a number of them was due to an overfilled tranny from the factory
