I've drivin by Trout Run a couple times, but haven't made the turn, will have to try it... A couple weekends this summer I've driven up to Moorfield at 55 and 220, and spent the the time driving the roads, with a little fishing thrown in. Old route 55 is a lot more fun then the new 55, right at Moorefield.

It's empty now, not that it was very busy before.

Given that I'm willing to drive a couple hours, is there anything in PA like the WV roads I've mentioned?

Look up the Michaux state forest. Also futher west is PA 26, We drove that last year for the Fall Colors event,

I need to explore PA more.

Now the trick is getting there and back via all back roads, we ride our bikes up to the Michaux forest and back doing just that.

Nothing is quite like WV, You need to go into SW Virginia or NC/TN

PA doesnt quite have the elevation

I'm going down to the dragon at the end of September, so I'll see how that compares. Though the 30mph speed limit and the extra enforcement on 129 is a worry.
