Just wanted to say thank you for everyone's empathy and recommendations for body shops and give you all an update on my repairs. I ended up getting my car repaired at Koon's Body Shop in Tyson's. State Farm was not being flexible about where I wanted to take it. Opinions on the repair job are welcome.
Here are some of the original accident photos:
And here is a shot of the repairs and paint (which seems just a tad off, opinions are welcome):
And here's an old shot of how it looked coming from the factory, pre-accident:
Looking forward to the next meet (I know I haven't been to one for 6 months, but I really did go to quite a few last year).
It does look a little off, doesn't state farm have 100% satisfaction guarenteed repair? I know my carrier (Geico) does. If you arn't happy with the repair they will pay to have it done again. You can always go back to the body shop and complain, see if they will do it again.
In this picture, it looks really off. But then again, I can't really judge unless I see it in person. Pictures can easily play tricks with your eyes due to lighting and reflections and so on....
Doesn't look off to me. If you told me there was something wrong with the picture and didn't tell me what it was, I wouldn't be able to point out any color problems. I'd really have to see it in person and in sun light to tell for sure.
If I HAD to nit pick (and that's only because you asked ), I'd say it looks like there's a bigger gap after the repair. See the 3rd pic and the last. It might just be the angle though.
In any case, it looks a heck of a lot better without that big dent in the side

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yeah. I purposely took pictures in lighting conditions and at angles that really emphasize the difference. When I picked it up it was raining, there was less light, and the paint looked spot on, but now I'm not so sure.
In many of the other pictures I took, the difference wasn't quite as apparent. I'm really on the fence about it. I'm not sure its worth arguing with state farm or the body shop. I'm a bit burned out on arguing with people.
Well, I'll try to to make the meet at Jeff's on the 28th. Maybe I can get a little more feedback then.
I'm anal... but I see a significant difference in colors. The bumper has a lighter, more golden hue to it in the sunlight. the amount of fleck looks right, but the base shade looks too light. Of course, in person viewing is the proper way to measure as it removes the camera angle from the equation.
