Default V-AFC Tuner in NoVA Needed (Again)

Having disconnected my battery, my ECU's now "forgotten" whatever adjustments it learned for narrow-throttle fuel management, thus mucking up the nicely smooth power curve that resulted from the last time I got the car tuned -- shortly after the turbo installation.

At that time (in early May), I took the car to Altered Atmosphere in Gaithersburg. They're primarily a Mitsubishi shop, but they did a good job. (Another member of the board had a far less positive experience with them, though.)

I'd go back to Altered Atmosphere, but they're a slog for me, and I thought I'd ask again for referrals for a V-AFC tuner in NoVa. Any suggestions?

FYI, but wide open throttle's still smooth, as that is not, apparently, subject to any "learning" by the ECU. Apparently, under WOT, the ECU simply follows the fuel map as established by the V-AFC. Or so that's how I understand how it works. Pls. correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, guys.

Go to Curry's Automotive - had good luck with them. They're near Dulles.

I'm telling you - avoid AA like the plague.

Hiroprotaganist, thanks for the suggestion. They were also recommended to me by Jeff (from Evolution Automotive, somewhere in Virginia). Nice to get the confirming referral. As always, S2Ki's a wonderful community.

It turns out that Curry's dyno computes but cannot print the air/fuel mixture in the dyno plots -- apparently, there's something wrong with it that they've not gotten resolved.

So, I'm intending to take the car to Inline Pro (Springfield area) to have the car tested, on both low and high boost (with race gas).

Any comments on the work InLine Pro does? I got good vibes from speaking with them, and they were recommended to me by another S2K owner.

Thanks for the feedback.

Addendum: Based on the positive feedback for Curry's, I am planning to use Curry's to have my alignment done this coming Monday.

I'm considering the following alignment specs:

toe: 0 (front and rear)

caster: stock settings

camber: 1.5 degrees negative as close as they can get (all four wheels)

Any comments?

As far as I know, Inline Pro doesn't have a dyno yet. But regarding their work, its top notch. With Civics/Tegs that is... Thing to keep in mind, almost all of their experience is with the B18 motor. They don't have much experience with S2000's.

HeNeSSeY: Inline Pro's got a dyno and it worked just fine. I found David Lee (one of the owners) to be easy to work with and competent. He may not have much experience with the S2K's engine, but he clearly has much expertise with forced induction for Honda's generally, and I'd go back to him for V-AFC tuning and, probably, other issues as well.

S Two K: Curry's did a nice job with my alignment. They dialed in 2.2 degrees of negative camber in the rears, and I'm glad they did, as the car feels very good. I thought they were on the expensive side -- $190 for a little more than an hour's work -- but I like their work. What did they charge you for 4 hours of aligning?
