Valve Adjustment
Ive noticed recently that there had been increased noise coming the engine. This occurs during both cold starts and when the engine is warm. After searching around a bit and comparing some videos, I think ive narrowed the case to needing a valve adjustment. Currently at 74k on my BB 00' and to date, I am pretty sure its never had one done. I know the cars are somewhat noisy, but it seems a bit off in comparison to what it was.
Im very reluctant with just taking the car anywhere and wanted to get some input on where to have the adjustment done. If anyone knows someone reputable/skilled in the Bel Air / Baltimore area, please let me know as im hesitant.
Thanks all
Edit: sounds almost identical to this video. I know he narrowed his down the tensioner, but I figured I would start with the adjustment and work my way down the list.

Hello,
The valve adjustment on these cars is relatively easy. I have adjusted thousands of Honda & Acura valves over the years & the S2000 is pretty standard. Nothing involved like a GSR or a SH Prelude.
You will want to replace the Valve Cover Gasket (use an OE part only) & it is a good time to replace the spark plugs. This can be done with a minimum amount of tools (feeler gauge set & a few basic hand tools) & should take about (just over) an hour.
Valve gasket set part # - 12040-PCX-305
If you take it somewhere, remember that the engine has to be cool, less than 100*. Takes a few hours to cool down after you drive it, so plan on leaving it for awhile or even overnight.
At 75,000 miles you are due for a coolant service, an oil change & a general inspection. Depending on your service history, you may want to do a complete fluid service.
Also, at 75K it wouldn't be unheard of to need a chain tensioner. If you suspect that it is going bad & are taking it into a shop, now would be the time to replace it. I have always used OE tensioners, but have read that the Billman modified tensioners are really good. I may give them a go when mine needs one.
Send me your email address & I will send you the procedure. Let me know if I can do anything else.

If you go to the Return to the Dragon 12-14 April .... you can sign up for Billman's services:

Where are you located? I adjusted the valves on mine and am willing to lend a hand if you want to do yours. In exchange I may ask for a hand swapping out an exhaust in the future.
EDIT: Just noticed Baltimore/Bel Air area. Derp. That's very close to me
