We walked to our polling place in Rosslyn 20 minutes before it opened. It took us 30 minutes to get out of there. But the line got very long right after we arrived, so I'm sure those peeps are going to be there for 1.5 hours or more.

Once the polls opened the lines got moving by me, but it still took almost 1.5 hours to get to the front. I got there at 5:50am, so 10 mins before the polls opened - not sure if I had arrived a little earlier if it would have been significantly shorter. People only a little bit in front of me were saying they had been there since 5:40 or so.

I skipped voting this morning after seeing the long lines. I'll try again this afternoon (probably leave work early).

I just got back from voting in Portsmouth, VA. My wife and I got there at 6:45, and we got to the voting booths by 7:40. The lines were long, but they had shrunk by more than half when we left. If you want to avoid long lines, go during the day. I would imagine lines after work will be brutal.

The news programs are all saying that there will be record turn out. Do we have any first time voters in the Mid-A?
