it functions as a sweet ass frame for a nice front mount, and it functions as a part that makes your car look badass. i'm not sure about any other type of function.

The lower portion sticks out far enough to act as a splitter. If you can duct the side opening for brakes, that would be good. The primary opening, however, is not good. It's too big for aerodynamics' sake. In fact, the oem front opening is too large.
