Default What did you do...?

well, tomorrow will be the offical first day having my s2k. I bought it about 2 months ago while I was living in Italy from a guy in the Navy. After some serious issues with my bank of choice(HSBC) which I must say is hands down the WORST bank on this earth for many reasons. One being I got a rate of 10.25 with a 679 credit score... pisses me off. I will be refinancing very soon with another bank.

she's a 00' with 71K. Has 18" racing hart c5 3 piece with minimal wear and tear, fairly new tires, CAI, what looks to be stock exhaust and a front lip. One small scratch on the rear bumper other than that, the car is very clean. I picked it up for 13,000... Which I thought was a steal. Bank told me blue book is a little over 18,000.

Problem is, no title yet so I cant drive it! Well tomorrow the owner is going to let me use his plates to get it to my house, then I need to take them back. But for that day, I wanna actually drive it some. What did you do on your first day?! I dont know the area that well, nor have I driven a RWD with any kind of power in the last 4 or so years, but I wanna take it somewhere safe to open her up. Any suggestions?

Depending on what tires are on the car... be VERY careful. It will be cold and the S, as tail happy as it can be, will be even worse with cold tires. Get used to the car, dont over drive it... I would just go for a nice long cruise on major highways and other big roads just so you could get a feel for the car. You can always push it and enjoy it more once you get a feel for it and have some experience with the car under your belt.

Just be careful with driving it too much with someone else's tags on the car. You don't want to get into any trouble with the authorities over something as stupid as that.

I asked a county sheriff and he said as long as it has insurance, its no big deal. but I do need to not attract too much attention. It has some pretty wide meat's under it, I think they were 9" but I could be mistaken.

Ok cool... but again...

1) wheel width doesnt matter as much as tire width and contact patch
2) its the tire temperature im talking about. If you take a car with summer tires out on a cold day, i dont care if you have 335s in the rear, if you're pushing the car hard when the tires are cold, you can end up in some trouble simply because the rubber is hard and not grippy at all... meaning MUCH lower traction than when it is warm.

Safety comes first in my book... thats why I brought that up

I can't think of any off the top of my head... we do have a good amount of meets in Mid-A so just keep up on the boards and im sure one will pop up soon.

Speaking of which, maybe we should try to set up some sort of meet/greet dinner... there have been new people coming on and I think itd be nice for everyone to put faces to all of the names and SNs on here...

Congrats on the car, and hopefully you can meet some people at the meets!
