this is why i went with a replica
I scrape the hell out of the ENTIRE bottom of my car(lip, wind deflectors in front of the front tires, side rails, exhaust, etc.) going to EJ's house. The speed bumps have to be 5" tall, 12-14" wide. Its ridiculous.
The funny thing is, I don't scrape on my speed bumps. This is is all from driving to and from military high and from when my car was towed. The damage closest to the lip is a crack that is pushed in about a quarter inch. And to the right in the pic there a long gouge that extends towards the front. Thats from one day in the tunnel, something flew from the truck bed of a construction truck, guy in the right lane blew his tire when he ran over it, before I had time to react, it slingshotted into my lane, hit the bumper, bounced back off the ground, then hit my under carriage. I checked the bumper and that gouge is the size of my thumb. Watching the fiberglass shards in my rear view was so painful to watch
what you don't see is the stress cracks under the headlights. I had the estimate to get it fixed just shy of 375. But that was premutilation. If the repair is more than the bumper it'sself Ima go back to stock until I can afford the shine version.
