Default will it fit?

I'm a new guest, new to the site and have a question about a HU I received. It's a JVC KD-AVX44. I want to know if anyone has put one in their S2K; and/or where I may go to have it installed in the NoVa area assuming it fits. I have spent two days of reading threads on HUs and have not seen anything. Any ideas? Any help is very welcome.

If it's the same size as the JVC installed in my former "S", then yes it will fit, BUT...you may have to do some trimming to get the radio door to close.

It's either that of extend the front of the slots in the radio mounting bracket so that the H/U sits back a bit futher.

BTW. I just installed the AVX44 in my new ride....and frankly I am not all that impressed with it. IPOD control SUCKS!!! as does the Bluetooth interface.

I hope you have better luck!

Steve

Crutchfield says it won't fit.

Anything larger than a single DIN will NOT work in the S. Also, anything with knobs that protrude more than 1/4" from the face will not allow the radio door to close.

My advice? Go see Fred (sixsevenone) to make sure. He is the Mid-A go-to audio guy...
