Default WTB my first S2k

Hello all,

Hopefully it is okay to post in the regional forum for buying - I read that I need to be a paying member to sell but I don't know if that applies to buying as well?

Anyway, I'm in the market for an AP2 in the NoVA area; I'm in Woodbridge for reference. <=$18-22k range, no accidents, buying from 2nd owner (preferably), <60k miles preferably unless cheaper, not red/yellow, no/minimal/tasteful mods, not tracked/raced, and of course, taken care of.

This will be a daily to replace my BMW E39 money pit (the Bummer). I also feel a little ashamed to admit it but it will also be my first manual; I've driven a manual a few times to try and get the catch of it however I have never had one to drive at my own leisure and that was a while ago so excuse my inability, so to say! I plan on keeping the Bummer to daily until I feel comfortable enough driving to S2k to and from campus/work.

I've been saving up to move on since I realized the Bummer isn't worth keeping...

Anyway, cheers for reading~

Thank you! Would you recommend I rather post it in the Want to Buy forum or is this okay?

Whenever you find a car that you think you like, see if any of the guys on here can help you go and look at it. We know those cars in and out and will be able to give you valuable pointers with little to no effort. You might need to buy him lunch though

If I to buy again though, I'd to for mint AP1, but that's just my preference. I just think that AP1 bumpers are more "functional", 9k engine is great, and AP1 can be had for less money.

Dinner on me for a clean S2k seems fair!

My main reason staying away from the AP1 is that I'm going to be dailying my S2k. I don't want to have to take apart the engine to replace seals as I don't really have much time with school and all. The added torque and improved suspension is nicer to have for a daily as well. No hate on the AP1 though!

Good luck in your search. I daily drove one of my old S2000s for several years. They're great cars!

Thanks man, it's nice to get support when it comes to daily driving it!

I actually found a 2006 with 36k on it but the owner hasn't responded...

If you change your mind on an AP2, my AP1 is looking for a new owner
