Default SOLD!

For sale is my ACT HD pressure plate. I don't know how many miles are on it. I am selling it because I am upgrading to the Competition Clutch Stage 4 kit.

Warning: I'm one of the guys who have had a bad experience with the ACT HD PP. I'm pretty sure that it was the cause of the spring retainer metal shearing on the clutch disc, which resulted in the inner spring jamming the PP and preventing the clutch from disengaging.

That being said, when everything was working properly, the feel is nice. You get a stiff pedal, which I prefer and it clamps strong, no slippage even with an organic disc (ACT street/stock disc?) and 348rwhp (it grabbed fine during the dyno run for 370rwhp as well, boost was capped for other reasons).

The PP itself is in fine working condition, and the reason it was jammed was the smaller inner spring getting itself stuck between the diaphragm spring and the plate itself. I removed it and there's no damage from what I saw.

My used, but clean throw-out/clutch release bearing is included.

I am asking $50 for the PP + paypal/shipping.

I am located in Fairfax, VA.

Hmmm, maybe I should have got mine back from InlinePRO when they installed my CC Stage 4. Mine worked fine- never had any problems... and had the motor up to 398 rwhp.

Skip, how is pedal resistance of the CCS4 compared to the ACT? Hopefully, I'll finally stop by Inline sometime this week and get the car running again.

I have the whole jamming of the pressure plate on video.

First time I engaged the CC, my foot went to the floor. It is quite a bit lighter feel-wise. I haven't been able to drive the car yet to know how well it does or doesn't grab compared to the ACT PP at speed. It's only gone from my trailer into my garage- I have to go through the entire car before I put it on the road/track.

Interesting, so I'm guessing it's similar to stock pedal feel. That's how my buddy's was on his E36.

Did you get the CC ltw flywheel installed as well? I'm trying to decide whether or not, just to put one in, since the car's already disassembled.

im regretting switching to a lightweight fw now, but i have the 8.6lb ACT

if you don't DD the car then it's ok but in DD it gets annoying. the revs drop very quick...you can shift faster to make up for it easily, but sometimes it gets tiring. but if you have the CC stage 4 the pedal is so damn light you might not even care. the lightweight fly + ACT PP combo is kind of pissing me off now.

when it's time to switch i think i might upgrade to CC stage 4 and AP1 flywheel.

Never had any problems and just to give you an idea of my DD'ing the car, I put 50k on it in 2 years. And it had 4.57's.

Bring your car to my garage, and we'll both upgrade to the CC4 kit and swap flywheels.
