I've heard that before but I'm scared of the maintenance

 

Maintenance isn't bad, just expensive, and includes wear items like the radiator.

 

expensive = scared of maintenance. And seeing as how this will be a dd I want something I don't have to worry about nor budget for.

 

And using me as an example...you can see what i'm going through with my bmw.

 

Then get a car with no power windows, locks, or seats. Get something without airbags.

Since I've been looking at getting a mid-'90's BMW for my DD, I'm aware that they have many "issues," however, they are not things that keep one from actually driving the car(most of the time). That said, any car that is 15 yrs old is going to require some replacement parts and attention.

Oh, and you can get a very nice one at around $6k. Put the rest of your money in a "repair" account.

 

Using you as an example, owning an S2000 doesn't mean driving one.
