Default Apartment/Villa Needed

I must be desperate by now, Im asking a really dead forum!!

I've been hunting for a villa/apartment in Dubai for a couple of weeks now, with varied to no success. Thought I had one hooked in for Arabian Ranches, but the guy then changed the price from 180 to 210. Bastardo.

I need 2 bedrooms, an outside space (balcony/terrace/garden), must be on a floor lower than 9 , prefer to have a study or maid room, and needs to be around the 150k-170k mark. SHould be around 1500 sq ft. 2 cheque payment

I am looking for anywhere in 'new dubai', so in an area encompassing gardens, discovery gardens, springs (only 4E or better), al barsha, JBR, JLT, Greens, views, arabian ranches, etc etc etc etc

Most of the time I dont get called back, or the flat is so small its a joke. Springs are pretty $hitty for the 170k they are now asking.

WTF is going on with prices around here

PLEASE HELP!!!! Give me a shout if you know of anything that might be interesting.

Thanks

You need to chase one property guy all the time. or take 2, you need to call them daily twice. Reason being, in Dubai everyone is looking for a place to stay and these guys get called all the time by landlords and tenants. If you are lucky, he will offer you something then and there and you take it, if you delay it, its gone.

Springs, Meadows and ranches should be easy to find. Wonder why you having trouble :S

I agree with Umair.

Back when I was hunting (4 years ago) it took me 6 months to find something good. You need to find a semi decent agent and you need to be able to move fast. Contact them regularly, almost bug them if you know that they deal with the properties you are looking for.

If s/he finds something you need to be able to get to the landlord and give the first cheque, comission immediately. There is no honour system when it comes to property so its early bird gets the worm and all that.

Sorry you're having problems but its the way the market is unfortunately. It is terrible what's happening with the rents - unless you own some properties and are renting them out - then you're smiling all the way to the bank!

Thanks for the advice guys, heed your words. The wife is now unemployed and available all the time, plus it looks like we will be able to stay with friends in Hattan, so will be up there ready to look at all times, guess we just have to wait and see.

Thanks again
