I saw the original article in a mag in the UK (might have been AutoExpress), the next day I emailed them and showed them pics of Mussendam - a better road imo. Far more demanding for a good driver.

I agree - the Musandam can be pretty hairy on some of the corners, I remember feeling the old puckering sensation on one sharp downhill in particular (lucky I had ABS). Very nice when you get it right though

Guess I will have to compare both again when the .:R gets back from surgery.

I'm in, but I need my car back. No way in hell will I do it in a 2.0L Passat. Should be sorted first week of March.

The biggest issue with both is that they are usually loaded with tourists in 4x4s on the weekends (overtaking is much riskier on the Musandam road though cuz it's only 1 lane each way with lots and lots of blind corners). So the big trick whatever the choice would be to get there at the right time.

If most ppl have Saturdays off I'd say that that's the time to try for.

I all for Saturdays as well, but I believe a lot of the guys are working on that day - time to schedule a day off guys!
