Default Turbo

Greets!

Im planning to buy a turbo for my S but i heard that its not good and the engine wont handle it because of Kuwait's weather ( specialy in summer) today the temp was 55.. Ofcourse i wont race or drive fast at this weather.. but can i drive the car with the turbo? or i shall keep the S parked all the summer and only drive it in winter?

I heard that someone called bader dashti own a black turbo charged S and got his engine blowd.. If any one in kuwait tried the turbo please advice me.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english

Hi
As I know, Bader has supercharged S2k not turboed s2k.
I think you can either turbo or supercharge your S safely with stock engine if you don't exceed 10 psi of boost.

Thanks

i want to go turbo too but i dont know any tuners. everybody tunes american cars here.
basically if u have a good tuner ur ok in the summer. and keeping it a bit below boost in the sun would be good.

i dont know the guy who blew up his engine but i believe that is because it wasnt tuned right.
with a good tune u can "GIZ" in the sun as much as u want

if my english is bad tell me 3ashan aktib chithee..

Yousif

Thanks

Turbo on NA car ... calling for problems.

Yes it is ok if you runing bellow 10 psi, but when you will install it, it will itch you to increase more power and slowly slowly you will reach a point that you will have to buy a house next to garage or you will open a garage. If power needed i think Supercharging is safer and reliable compared to Turbo.

Plus no good tuners in ME to install the right match. Top Fuel has an unfinished turbo kit for the S2000, let them finish, full bolt on kits are always good.

I know of 4 Turbo charges S2000, all having problems always.
I know of 2 supercharged, runing fine with hickups every now and then.

I would say same amount of money u should sent the engine to Japan, stroke it, ITBs and enjoy the torque and HPs, belive me much more reliable and you can enjoy. Doing the same with my blown engine.

Thats why u have a intercooler, s/c is more reliable. I wouldn't think weather is going to give u problems s/c or turbo as long as the car is done right and a good tune.

Good tune is the key!

Why install a turbo! Get an EVO!

What type of turbo are you planning to buy?

If you install a 3MM Head Gasket you can boost to 18lbs, or more. That depends on what type of power you are looking for. It lowers the compression to 9:1

You can vent the hood on the exhaust side to let the heat escape. I don't have any pics available at this time. I can find some if anyone is interested.
Also you can install a water cooled turbo, spoon or Muegeun Thermostat and fan switch.

I do agree tuning is a big issue. Hopefully you have someone in your area that you can trust.

Just a little info.
