Default New guy on the block

Spent 6 years drueling on the show room floor, but I finally found "the one" that pried the wallet open and made my dream come true.

2005 - Seibring Silver, Back/Red interior, 1800 miles

Took it the Ozarks Saturday. Girl friend did the nav work. We ran every 2 lane twisty county road between there and KC. Top down the whole time. What a freaking blast!!!

I've got so much to learn about this ride and how to care for it. Last hot rod I had was back in college (Z-28) and that was a long time ago. Car didn't have an owner's manual so I've got one on order. Haven't pushed it too much yet, but I have bounced it near the 8000 mark a couple of times. What a rush!

My wash & wax experience has consisted of the SUV at the wand wash. Not for this baby. I need a wash & wash mentor to teach me the wisdom of their ways.

I'm really looking forward to being a part of this community. The road trips and pics are awsome.

Welcome to the site! We try to have semi-regular meetings so perhaps with the new members arriving it's time for another one (*cough* Angel *cough). I'm sure we could do a detail day at someone's house in the near future!

Welcome and just post any questions that you have, I'm sure that someone here has the answers or knows where to get them and we'd all be happy to share them with a fellow S2k enthusiast.

Are you sure the owner's manual isn't in the secret compartment?

Secret compartment???

Is this the panel that covers the tray in the trunk? It looked like that was probable where it would have been stored. The jack tools were there, but no owners manual. Is there somewhere else I should look?

Detail day would be great. I was amazed at all the gunk that acumulated in just a couple of days. Needs washing already, brake dust all over the wheels, bugs on the nose, etc. Can't wait to get it shining again.

Keep looking??? I love reading posts about a new S2k owner being stuck at the gas station unable to locate the fuel door release button as much as the next guy but he's from Kansas and we should look after our own. Especially if we save him money by sending the second owner manual back.

That post will enlighten you. Joeking owned his S2k 3 years before finding it.

Open the glove compartment. Feel around where the glove compartment door latches to the car and lift. The triangle shaped cover where your rear wind-screen attaches lifts up and hides the compartment. My car still had stuff from the previous owner in it when I bought it and now houses my passanger airbag disable switch, owners manual, and registration/insurance info.

btw I'm about the worst wash and wax mentor around. I was excited by heavy rains instead of dreading them because it allowed my car to be a bit cleaner than usual.

Welcome I would be happy to do a detail day at my house if Angel wants to set it up. Sandman1 is a newbie and could use some advice also (like where to park in public lots - just kidding). Until then do not go to a car wash (use garden hose only). Also only use microfiber/100% cotton towels to wash & dry with. I use a leaf blower to dry 90% of the car followed by a towel. Works great! BTW I use Zaino products & highly recommend them Check out the wash/wax forum - it will get your head spinning!
