Post New guy on here

Well here I am.

I am 18 and majoring in business finance. I just opened an E*trade account that I am going to use primarily for trading stock. I am no day trader though. I plan on longer runs with my stock.

I am really interested in becoming a stock broker/ financial adviser and I was wondering if anybody else here is in this same profession. One thing I want to know is where many of you went to school. I am sure someone on this forum has a degree in some kind of economic, business, or financial career.

If this thread is in the wrong place or stupid feel free to delete or remove it. I was just reading some of the threads and they confused me a little, even though I feel I am more competent than most people when it comes to finances.

Thanks for any and all input!

Are you psychic? I was about to create a similar thread just right now. Anyways, I am majoring in business admin and want to transfer to UCLA and major in Business Econ. Getting a Bachelor's is 3 yrs away but was wondering what everyone else thought about getting into the industry. Although 3 years is a long time in terms of economics, is it still a good idea to get into business or econ?

I think anytime is a good time to get into business because what is our whole job about? Making money. What makes the world go 'round? Money. Maybe I am just naive and don't know any better. What school do you go to right now?

I was in your shoes 4 years ago. graduated financial management and now working for a bank.

I started trading after my freshman year and left school debt free with a degree.

I would recommend paper trading for a while before playing with real money though.
