Default Simple tax question...

Ok, so I have always filed my own tax return from the first year I held a job, and always get it right.

The other day I e-filed my federal taxes and it was rejected because my total income tax withheld did not equal what was on my W2 forms. This is because I both worked and received a 1099G this year since I was on unemployment last year. I elected to have taxes withheld from UI, but there is no place to e-file a 1099G (and I don't think you are even supposed to).

Should I just add another W2 to act as my 1099G form or am I going to have to send in a paper copy?

Thanks,
Parker

Not 100% sure what you're asking for here, but I'll try to help you anyway.

How are you filing your taxes? E-file through the IRS site? If so, are you by chance using a 1040EZ?

any time you have income tax withheld you should attach a paper copy of whatever tax form you receive .

i dont get the part about not efiling a 1099-G. ? It must be reported no matter how you file your taxes. Unemployment income has its own line on a 1040!

How did you get the software to report additional withholdings without entering in your 1099?
