So I ran into a site that I read in a magazine somewhere. Remember the site prosper.com? It's still down because of government regulations.

But check out lendingclub.com. It seems to be along the say lines as prosper but it's available for registration to the public.

Any thoughts?

 

Don't do it.

I have some money in prosper still, and actually still have a profit, but that's only because I got in quite a while ago. Out of the last 7 or so loans I put money towards ($50 each, A or AA credit rating), I think 5 of them have filed for bankruptcy.

Edit: Also with prosper's legal issue, I would not see how another company doing the same thing would get by any easier unless they are doing something shady.
