2 autocrosses this weekend!
Cone dodging this weekend. Sat and Sunday!
For those that don't know what an autocross is (for those that know what it is ignore this paragraph
) Think about taking a big parking lot and lining it with cones in the form of a race track filled with small straights, tight and wide turns and slaloms and then flying through it Speeds rarely exceed 60-70mph. You'll keep it in 2nd gear through most of your run. It's a cheap, fun, and safe way to explore the limits of your car and a great introduction into motorsports and activities held by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America www.scca.com)
Where: This event will be Boulder City Police Training Lot

When: May 6-7 - registration opens at 7:00am - closes at 8:30 (first car out ~ 9:00) until about 4:30pm
How Much: $30 for SCCA members | $40 for non-members ($20 if it's your first autocross, bring the half off coupon linked below)
Rental Helmets: Available for $10/day
Remember that all Autocrosses are "Run-Work" events - meaning that if you plan to drive, plan to work - no exceptions.

A couple of us will be meeting up at Starbucks by my house at 7am. Take 215 to Valle Verde. Exit Valle Verde and go South. Make your first right into the shopping center parking lot. Turn left when inside lot, pass Mcdonalds and Hollywood Video and you'll see the Starbucks. We'll roll out form there at 7:15am.
