4th of july events
i dont know about all of you, but im a patriotic person. and the freedom our country provides means alot to me.
there are 2 events locally which mean so much, and im sure most of you would enjoy them, aside from the fact that it will remind you why you live here, and that others have fought, and died for this country, selflessly so that you can speak freely, and drive an s2000, like you do today.
the first and most important, is the memorial for the soldiers who have been killed thus far in iraq. it will be at mountain crest park, all day the 4th of july. a local kid, backed by many local companies, and the state, has 350 american flags, with the names of the soldiers who have died in iraq, where they are from, and how they died. i will be there early.
mountain crest park is on the corner of lone mountain, and durango. so if youd like to go, let me know and we can cruise up there.
the other event, is the summerlin 4th of july parade........
12th annual Summerlin's Fourth of July Patriotic Parade
When: 9 a.m. July 4
Where: The parade begins at the corner of Hillpointe Road and Hills Center Drive in Summerlin, heads south and ends at Trailwood Drive and Spring Gate Lane.
This year's parade has already attracted more than 60 entries, including floats, dance performers, musical groups, cars and other decorated vehicles, dignitaries and local mascots
Col. Christopher Haave, 98th Range Wing Commander of Nellis Air Force Base, will be the Grand Marshal at this year's parade.

so. let freedom ring, and everyone have a safe 4th. and godbless those defending us now, and godspeed to those who have passed on.
